Installation Guide — Drywall, Stud & HoldUp Display | HexCore Mounts
Installation Guide

Mounting
Mastery.
Done Right.

A truly organized armory begins with a secure and confident installation. Our mounts are engineered for precision — but even the best design needs proper execution.

This guide walks you through installation on wooden studs, drywall, and HoldUp Display panels.

Before you begin, identify your mounting surface. This determines the hardware and technique you'll use.

Gold Standard
Wooden Studs
The strongest and most secure mounting points. Studs provide excellent holding power for heavy firearms and are always the preferred option when available.
With Proper Anchors
Drywall
Can support lighter firearms with the correct anchors. Always use appropriate drywall anchors — never mount directly into drywall without them.

Mounting directly into a wooden stud offers the most robust and secure installation. Always prioritize stud mounting when possible.

Stud Installation
01
Locate the Stud

Use a stud finder to accurately locate the center of a wooden stud behind your drywall. Mark the top and bottom of the stud with a pencil.

02
Position Your Mount

Hold your HexCore Mount against the wall at your desired height and position. Use a level to ensure it's perfectly straight. Mark the screw hole locations with your pencil.

03
Drill Pilot Holes

Using a drill bit slightly smaller than your mounting screws, drill pilot holes through the drywall and into the center of the stud at your marked locations. This prevents wood splitting and makes screw insertion easier.

04
Secure the Mount

Align your HexCore Mount with the pilot holes and drive the provided screws firmly into the stud until the mount is snug against the wall. Do not overtighten.

05
Test Stability

Gently tug on the installed mount to ensure it is firmly secured. It should not wiggle or move.

For lighter firearms or when studs are unavailable, proper drywall anchors are essential. Never mount a firearm directly into drywall without appropriate anchors.

Drywall Installation
When Studs Aren't an Option
01
Position and Mark

Hold your HexCore Mount in the desired location, use a level, and mark the screw hole locations with a pencil.

02
Choose Your Anchors

Select drywall anchors appropriate for the weight of the firearm you intend to mount. HexCore Mounts typically include suitable anchors for lighter applications. For heavier firearms, consider toggle bolts or self-drilling anchors.

03
Prepare Anchor Holes

Follow the instructions provided with your chosen drywall anchors. This usually involves drilling a pilot hole of a specific size or screwing the anchor directly into the drywall.

04
Attach the Mount

Once the anchors are installed, align your HexCore Mount and secure it with the provided screws. Ensure the screws engage properly with the anchors.

05
Test Stability

Perform a gentle pull test to confirm the mount is secure. If there is any movement, the anchors may not be properly installed or may be insufficient for the weight.

HoldUp Display Panel Installation
01
Attach to the HoldUp Display panel by tilting the mount at a 45-degree angle and engaging the panel slot. No additional hardware required.
Read Before Installing
  • Always verify stability before placing a firearm on any mount.
  • Never mount a loaded firearm. Always ensure firearms are unloaded and clear before placing them on any mount.
  • If you are unsure about the installation process or the suitability of your mounting surface, consult a professional.

A proper installation not only protects your firearms — it reflects the pride you take in your equipment.
