Firearm Responsibility & Safety Guidelines | HexCore Mounts
Safety & Responsibility

Responsible
Ownership
Starts Here.

At HexCore Mounts, we engineer purpose-built mounting solutions for secure, intentional firearm organization.

But no mount — ours or anyone's — replaces responsible firearm handling. Safe display and storage are critical components of responsible gun ownership.

Never store a loaded firearm in a mount. A mounted firearm should always be verified as unloaded before being displayed or stored.
Never place a firearm where a person could pass in front of the muzzle. Be mindful of sightlines when designing your wall or room layout.
Never leave firearms and ammunition unsecured together. Store ammunition separately from your mounted collection.
Never mount any firearm where it can be accessed by a minor or unauthorized person. Consider additional security measures like locked display rooms or safes.
Never mount a firearm above people, pets, or high-traffic areas. Respect the space below your display as much as the display itself.
Never use these mounts in vehicles or any environment where impact or force is unpredictable. Our mounts are designed for stable, controlled environments only.

Creating Your Display Space

  • Plan your layout with safety in mind. Before mounting, walk through the space and ensure no muzzles are pointed toward regularly occupied areas.
  • Use proper mounting hardware and techniques. Ensure your mounts are securely fastened to wall studs or appropriate anchors.
  • Consider the weight of your firearms. Distribute weight evenly across your display wall and don't exceed mount specifications.
  • Light your display responsibly. Use lighting that enhances visibility without creating glare that could obscure the firearm's status.

Home Defense Considerations

  • Balance accessibility with security. If mounting home defense firearms, consider quick-access lock boxes or biometric safes as an alternative to open mounts.
  • Practice retrieval safely. If you practice accessing mounted firearms for home defense, always verify they're unloaded first and follow all safety protocols.
  • Educate household members. Ensure everyone in your home understands which firearms are for display and which may be for defense, and the safety rules that apply to each.

Maintenance & Inspection

  • Regularly inspect your mounts. Check for loosening, wear, or stress on a monthly basis.
  • Clean your mounted firearms regularly. Dust and oils can accumulate on displayed firearms, potentially affecting their function.
  • Rotate firearms carefully. When changing your display, verify each firearm is unloaded before handling.

Even when displaying firearms, these fundamental rules always apply.

01
Treat Every Firearm as if it's Loaded
Always handle firearms with this mindset — even when mounted. There are no exceptions.
02
Never Cover Anything You're Not Willing to Destroy
Be mindful of where your mounted firearms are pointed at all times, including during installation and handling.
03
Finger Off the Trigger Until Ready to Shoot
Proper trigger discipline prevents accidents — whether at the range or handling a firearm for display.
04
Be Sure of Your Target and What's Beyond It
Know what's in the line of fire — even when simply handling firearms for display or rotation.

HexCore Mounts is committed to promoting responsible firearm ownership through purpose-built engineering solutions. We design our mounts with safety and display in mind, but proper firearm handling remains the responsibility of every gun owner.

A well-organized display is a safe display. Plan thoughtfully, mount securely, and handle responsibly.
